Inactivating a Drug

The Inactive flag in the Drug Folder lets you Inactivate drugs that are not used in your pharmacy.

When a drug is flagged as Inactive:

• It does not appear in the Drug Search or Drug and Mixture Search window when an Active Only search is performed.

• A prompt appears when you try to process a new prescription for the drug. You cannot proceed until you reactivate the drug.

• A prompt appears if existing prescriptions for the drug are Refilled or reauthorized. You may proceed with processing the prescription if desired.

When inactivating a DIN that has Monitored pack sizes, remove all On Hand values and then turn OFF the Monitor flag for each pack size.

To flag a drug as Inactive:

1. Open the Drug Folder.

2. Select the Main tab.

3. Select the Inactive checkbox.

   

   

4. Select Save.
